Determine Your Skin Type For a Healthy Looking Skin

There are five common skin types: normal, dry, oily, combination and sensitive. Understanding the different types of skin will give you a better idea of how to treat achieve a clear skin, acne breakouts and reveal smooth skin.

Your skin type is usually due to a more permanent factor: your genes, but there are habits that can effect a skin condition. Identifying skin type is exceptionally important as it drives everything about the texture and types of products you should be using. Dry Skin Type

If you have dry skin, you may feel a tightness in your skin throughout the day. There may also be scaly patches or flaking. Oily Skin Type

Oily skin is the result of both genetic factors and hormonal changes experienced in an individual’s lifetime. Oily skin is identified by an excess of sebum on the face.When an excess oil is produced, it can enlarged skin’s pores and result in blockages that become pimples and other acne blemishes. Oily skin is more prone to acne breakouts, and may feature a plethora of blackheads, whiteheads and pustules or papules. Your pores may be more visible and your skin may appear greasy throughout the day. If you wear makeup, you may find it slides off quite easily. The good news is that oily skin looks younger meaning you age more slowly. Oily skin is more supple and have thicker skin which has more natural moisture and is less prone to wrinkle.

Oilier skin is also prone to post-inflammatory hyper pigmentation. Combination Skin

Sensitive Skin

If you have sensitive skin, your skin is easily flames and usually deal with redness and irritation. Your skin will often feel tight and uncomfortable to touch due to soreness. Sensitive skin is usually caused by environmental and emotional factors. It could be due to change of weather, allergy, stress, sweat, lack of sleep, sun exposure, hormonal changes and so on. Those with sensitive skin types should avoid harsh chemical-based skin care treatments.
